WHAT I’M READING

I can go a year without reading and then read three books in a week. I’m not consistent. But the quest is never ending. Here’s an ongoing post, sharing the books I liked and loved, couldn’t put down, couldn’t wait to get back to, or got completely lost in the story. These did that for me. What else should I read?

PS. I know we all have an Amazon problem but these options help me keep it balanced. Please use their Smile program if you don’t already. ThriftBooks has free shipping for $15 and over, I love it. You can support black book stores here or independent bookstores here. In LA I love BookSoup and Skylight Books. I also love neighborhood Little Free Library boxes (they make my heart sing!) and usually drop off the books I’ve read there. And while I’m at it, I have a significant kids book problem. I try to keep track of them on my Baby Book Worm page. I also love following Inclusive Storytime, Books for Diversity and I support The Conscious Kid via Patreon.

I’ll keep updating this list as I read … lately:

I read Maid and loved it.

I also read The Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell. It was good, a typical read for her work.

Wrong Place Wrong Time was also fantastic.

Gah, Elise Loehnan’s book On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to be Good is genius. So well researched and intuitively stunning. I read it … and now I need to go back with my highlighter. It’s going on my shelf next to Glennon’s Untamed.
