A while back I heard that Caterina Scorsone’s home burned down. Nothing is left. She had just moments to get her kids out, they lost their beloved pets. It left me bereft for days. I still think about it — and them — often. I fell in love with her family. And their property was a simple yet dreamy home that was filled with ideas for the future. Our day together was so lovely, and I let those memories inspire me for what’s truly important. It’s not lost on me that I’m often invited into people’s homes to capture a moment in time not realizing I’m capturing the impermanence of life in that moment.
